Analysis by Koēo Danaj
It is not a matter of a long distance. It is also not a matter of structured highways. It is another kind of distance. What kind of distance is it? It's a national distance, natural distance, spiritual distance, mother's tongue distance etc, etc. And, when one think about these kinds of distances, then very rightly would say, "Presheva is closer to Tirana then Belgrade."
This is very obvious, someone would say. Yeah, that is an obvious truth, and at the same time is also true that this kind of truth is very often forgotten. Why is it forgotten? This is why: Albanians in the Valley of Presheva boycott the referendum for Serbian Constitution. With this boycott they showed that they do not acknowledge the fundamental Law of Serbian State, which means that do not acknowledge Serbian State as their State.
Everybody agrees with this kind of reasoning in Tirana, Prishtina and Tetova. But, the paradox follows latter. To the people that did the boycott is being said not to do that. In this way Albanian politicians of Presheva are continually under pressure from other Albanian Politicians in order not to boycott the 21st of January elections. They are called in Tirana, Prishtina and others for this matter. The Albanian President in his New Year's massage advised them to take part in 21st January elections. The end results: Only two political parties from five took part in 21st January, Serbian elections. PDSH leaded by Ragmi Mustafa, LBD leaded by Jonuz Musliu and others, and PDK did not take part in elections. |
|
To whom that do not know, PDSH are LBD are the most important Albanian political parties in Serbia. Ragmi Mustafa is Presheva's Major, whom in previous elections was elected with 64 % of the votes. Jonuz Musliu is a former political representative of UCPMB and a stronger candidate to be the Major of the Bujanovci County. In the first round he won more than 4000 votes. But, he is indorsing the other Albanian candidate Nagip Arifi in the second round, in order to avoid the election of the radical Serbian candidate Svetisllav Svojemenovici. No one knows yet how many Albanians will take part in this elections. Polls show that will be a massive boycott, as it was in the referendum for the Serbian Constitution.
All, it is been said is related to the fact that Albanian politics did not reached in a unification of the goals of political parties, in the Valley of Presheva. To make things worse Albanian politics made them to get separated in further corners. Not only this but the Albanian politics in Tirana and Prishtina has not made any move to help the Albanian politicians of Presheva Valley, in putting together the Albanian National Council. Although had a great push to take part in 21st Serbian elections. Above all the Albanian politics in Prishtina, Tetova and Tirana has forgotten that the Albanians of Presheva Valley, in 24th of March 1992, had their own Referendum for Autonomy and Unification with Kosova. There is time of retaining events of historical and political consciousness.
Politicians that are talking every day for Independence of Kosova has to understand that their Independence can be won in Presheva, more than any other place. Those individuals, which are talking every day for the freedom and rights of Albanians in Macedonia has to understand that their freedom and their rights, can not be won piece by piece, but as a whole. Albanian problem is different from other problems in the other countries in the region. But, has in common the reconfiguration of the region, where all the Albanians must be together. In the 28th of November the Presheva's Valley celebrated the anniversary of Natural Albanian Independence. In this celebration the Albanians of the Valley showed that they are closer to Tirana then Belgrade. It is an earlier aspiration, which is destined to be a reality. Maybe someone in Tirana, Tetova, or Prishtina, does not have the power to help. But, at least must not try to stop and make things worse. That is why we are closing our analyses with a Salvador Dali's slogan: Let the Sons go to their Mother.
